4th of July Cruise Report:

imageThe 4th of July, like most in Punta Gorda, was hot with a threat of rain. But that did not deter the PGSC from gathering at the large shelter at Gilchrist Park to celebrate the birth of our nation. Several boats anchored off Gilchrist, one mariner took shelter (from the heat) at Fisherman’s Village Marina and a large number of “Land Yachts” make the journey to party with their fellow mariners. Lively conversation, the clinking of bottles, and the sizzle of five BBQ could be heard for several hours as close to 60 PGSC members did what they do best….. Read More >>

The wind was great (10 to 15 out of the South East) and the seas were calm for most of the trip..Read More >>

"Sex on the Beach" Cruise Report

We have some hearty sailing folk in the Club, and it became clear just how far many of them will go for a free cocktail. The cruise (scheduled for March 26-29) seemed a little “iffy,” due to the weather forecast. Windy on Thursday; high wind and rain on Friday; clearing conditions on Saturday and Sunday. Of 16 boats originally scheduled, four arrived on Thursday, two on Friday, and two more on Saturday, before the cookout. ….. Read More >>
